Straw by Straw was founded by Ev Liu, a recreational diver, so she’s someone who has been aware of the effects of plastic for a long time. 

Ev decided that awareness about the issue was not enough by itself -- to have an impact, you need to provide a solution.

With a focus on sustainable process, Ev started looking for a biodegradable material in the shape of a straw.  

Suddenly, she realised the word ‘drinking straw’ was derived from real straws. 

 And so, Straw by Straw was born. 

Now, the company still provides high-quality, sustainably-made and aesthetic straws, and also uses their product to open the conversation around plastic and the environment.
